Gathering Every Part of Who You Are

“I didn’t think I’d live to forty-five.”

These are the opening words from the introduction to my next book. I’m glad the experience is in the past and I’ve changed quite a bit since then. I’m better for it. And I hope that if you’re journeying with me, you’ll take these moments to reflect on your own life.

For the next season, about six to twelve months, I decided I want to unpack the idea of what it means to change in the middle of your life. But rather than plop a new book into the market, I wanted to go about releasing my next book project a little different. I want to share a kind of commentary on key passages from it. And when the time is right, I’ll put the whole thing out there.

I don’t have a title yet, but I’m considering a few – all of which convey the idea of looking at midlife like the shedding of a skin. We’ve outgrown the old, and what we’re becoming isn’t fully yet known. I’m excited to kick off this journey and am doing it this way so I can bring others along with me. Take my hand, friend. Let’s get on with it.
